May 2026 - University Final Major Project

This project explores how art can be used to bring music to life. I was interested in looking at the relationship between the two art forms, and how visual elements like shape and colour could be used to illustrate musical elements like instrument and sound textures. I created a series of 5 original tracks which I then created covers for, presented in CD cases. My illustrated covers were created from a range of drawings, paintings, prints, photography and typography, all based specifically on the sound and instrumentation of each track, which were hand collaged together. Each CD covers look represents the unique sound and genre of each track.

Materials and processes: Collage, Adobe Photoshop, Product Design, Photography, Typography, Drawing, Painting, Lino Printing, Video and Audio

Grad Show

From the 9th of June 2026 to the 21st of June 2026 my work was up on display in the David Hockney Gallery as part of the UCA Grad Show 2026.

My gallery display consisted of my 5 Seeing Sound CD's presented alongside a 15 minute moving image and audio display playing each of the 5 tracks written and produced by me through a pair of headphones viewers were able to use to hear the tracks while watching the CD animations. I presented my display this was as I wanted the viewer to be able to experience both the visual and audio arts at the same time to allow them to better connect the two types of art.

The video and audio display from this project are available as reels on my Instagram page.
