About Me
Hi, I’m Jack, an illustrator and graphic designer based near London, who has recently finished a BA (Hons) in Illustration at University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. I create artwork inspired by and created purposely for music and music promotion.
My practice focuses on creating handmade and digital fusion collage pieces, combining analogue handmade processed with digital typography and photography. I create striking collage compositions which focus on colour, shape and texture, I aim to capture and create feeling and identity in my work by exploring the power of imagery, and how images can be disassembled and combined to create new and more interesting abstract shapes and combinations. I use text as a decorative tool, playing with readability and font to turn standard reading fonts into a much more interesting decorative aspect, integrating them into my image making.
Alongside my music promotion work, I also work as a decorative illustrator and graphic designer for a range of other means, from poster design to logo design, image making and self-promotion material like logo and business cards. My style is adaptable and I have a very open approach to my working which I can tailor to specific or broad creative briefs.
I am building a career within the music industry as a music promoter, creating artwork for bands, musicians, labels and independent artists. I am particularly interested in album artwork, gig posters, merchandise and physical media and packaging. I want to work alongside these artists closely to create unique and strong visuals for their work.
When I’m not working on my design work, you can often find me at concert gigs, discovering new music, or producing my own music, a side passion I have which I am thoroughly enjoying right now. I live and breathe music; it is an integral part of my life which has shaped my visual arts education and career.
If you’re looking to promote music, or looking for visual material to go alongside music, or just decorative illustration pieces, you can contact me via my email or Instagram linked across this site, I’d love to hear about your projects!
